Boardroom Luncheon with Matt Hardy, Group Executive, Infrastructure at Brisbane City Council
Brisbane’s infrastructure program is central to how the city responds to growth, mobility, liveability and long-term economic resilience. As investment expectations increase and delivery conditions remain complex, there is a growing need for practical dialogue between government and industry on pipeline visibility, procurement settings, market capacity and the partnerships required to support successful outcomes.
Join Consult Australia and senior industry leaders for an exclusive, member-only boardroom luncheon with Matt Hardy, Group Executive – Infrastructure at Brisbane City Council.
This intimate discussion will provide members with the opportunity to hear directly from Brisbane City Council on infrastructure priorities, emerging delivery challenges and the role of consultants in supporting a forward pipeline that meets the needs of a growing capital city. The conversation will explore how industry can contribute to efficient planning, procurement and delivery, while helping to manage cost pressures, capability constraints and community expectations across major programs of work.
Held under the Chatham House Rule, the luncheon will enable a candid exchange of perspectives in a private boardroom setting. Members will have the opportunity to raise issues affecting their businesses, test assumptions about future opportunities and contribute to a practical discussion on how government and industry can work together to deliver better infrastructure outcomes for Brisbane.
For members, this is a valuable opportunity to engage with one of Brisbane City Council’s senior infrastructure leaders, strengthen relationships with a key client organisation, and contribute to the ongoing dialogue shaping the city’s future pipeline, delivery environment and partnership approach.
As Group Executive for Infrastructure Services, Matt is responsible for leading Council’s infrastructure planning and delivery functions. This includes asset management, infrastructure design, project management, construction services, maintenance, and transport operations.
Matt joined Council in October 2025, bringing extensive experience in strategic infrastructure leadership across government, utilities, and the private sector. Prior to this appointment, he was Chief Commercial Officer at the Department of Treasury and Finance, South Australia, where he played a key role in commercial strategy and public asset oversight.
Before joining Council, Matt held senior executive roles at Downer, Urban Utilities, and Fortescue Metals Group, overseeing major infrastructure portfolios in water, resources, and public services. He has a strong track record in delivering complex infrastructure programs and leading high-performing teams.
Matt is qualified in project management and construction management, holds a Master of Business Administration, is an accredited Engineering Executive and a licensed commercial builder.
