Pre-qualification requirements - Client Briefing

This Client Briefing has been developed for Consult Australia member businesses to provide to their clients, to assist in knowledge sharing between the parties on pre-qualification requirements (be it for tender or panel arrangements). Pre-qualification requirements can be a useful tool for clients as well as consultants to make clear some key minimum requirements. However, care should be taken drafting and imposing such requirements to avoid unnecessary barriers to participation, market distortion, and lost productivity. Pre-qualification criteria should not replace due diligence obligations of clients or create quasi-regulatory requirements.
