Akshat Malhotra is a Senior Associate Director at Beca based in the Sydney office and leads the Building Services Data Centre Market and Delivery across Australia. A Chartered Professional Engineer with Engineers Australia, Engineering New Zealand and CIBSE (UK), Akshat brings more than 12 years of experience delivering commercial, infrastructure and mission critical projects across Australia, New Zealand and Asia. He specialises in multidisciplinary design leadership, coordinating large consultant and contractor teams to deliver resilient, scalable and high-performing facilities that meet the demanding requirements of today's digital infrastructure sector. Akshat's contributions to the engineering profession have been recognised through numerous industry awards, including the 2022 Outstanding Engineering Achievement Award from the Fire Protection Association of New Zealand, the 2021 Engineering New Zealand Outstanding Emerging Professional Award, and selection as a finalist for the 2021 Engineering New Zealand Young Engineer of the Year award.
Harshal Patel is the Market Lead for Renewables, Generation & Data Centres at Beca, where he helps clients navigate the intersection of energy infrastructure, digital infrastructure and the energy transition. He works with developers, utilities, investors and major energy users to unlock opportunities across renewable generation, battery storage, transmission and data centre projects. Harshal is passionate about solving complex energy challenges and enabling sustainable growth through practical, commercially focused solutions. He brings extensive experience in project development, market strategy and infrastructure delivery, with a particular focus on the evolving relationship between data centres and Australia's energy system
