Olivia Oliver
Group Sustainability and Environment Manager - WGA
With over 20 years’ experience combining Civil and Environmental Engineering and high-level operations and executive management, Olivia’s career has been driven by a desire to solve problems and create real change in response to environmental challenges.
Between 2005-8, amid debates on climate change and data gaps in industry, Olivia completed a PhD developing a simplified approach to climate impact assessments for water resources. Her forward-thinking led to the opening of many doors, including invitations to international conferences and presentations to international water utilities about potential climate impacts.
Through her career Olivia has worked on numerous projects with a strong environmental focus relating to sustainable management of stormwater, water quality, delivery of flows to the Coorong and restoration of wetland habitats. She managed the design of the Pakapakanthi/Victoria Park Wetland. This is not only an important environmental project but has become a beloved inner-city recreation space.
Olivia is energised by her mission at WGA to embed considerations of sustainability into both our operations and project delivery. Since then, she has worked on a range of projects across sectors that have combined environmental, sustainability, and water management
