Peter Regan
Chief Executive, Sydney Metro
Sydney Metro Chief Executive, Peter Regan is leading the procurement, construction, delivery and operations of Sydney Metro, Australia’s biggest public transport project.
The Sydney Metro program includes the operational M1 Line, that runs from Sydney’s booming North West region, under the harbour and Sydney CBD, then out to Sydenham. In construction are three further projects, extending the M1 line to Southwest Sydney, Metro West and Metro Western Sydney Airport. Sydney Metro is the biggest program of urban rail infrastructure investment in Australian history and incorporates city shaping place making and development along with automated high frequency railway services.
Peter joined Sydney Metro in 2021, following more than 20 years’ experience in transport and infrastructure project development, financing and delivery in Australia and the UK.
He has led Transport for NSW’s infrastructure and place, finance and investment divisions, and been in NSW Government since 2011, including as the Chief Executive Officer for Sydney Motorway Corporation, the Chief Financial Officer of WestConnex Delivery Authority, and the Head of Infrastructure Finance at NSW Treasury.
Peter was previously the Director of Corporate Finance at Transport for London, after commencing his career in corporate and project finance roles at Deutsche Bank and Price Waterhouse.
